Jeju Island in Instagram

I haven’t been posting for quite a while and many of you (a few of you?) are probably curious about my whereabouts… If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ll know that I’ve actually been away from mainland Korea for a while :)

I visited Jeju Island with my family for the past week and had an amazing time!

I’m definitely a person who’s more of an “active” traveler than a “relax with a massage” traveler – did that make sense? And during the past week, I’ve been hiking around parts of Jeju Island with my family and visiting beautiful places, eating yummy food and doing all sorts of random stuff.

Being the forever-lazy person I am, I left my camera with my mom and roamed around with just my iphone. So… here are photos from my instagram of my Jeju Island vacation!

Leaving for Jeju Island! I know some people detest flying, but I absolutely love it :) The feeling that you get when you first take off – ears a bubbling and stomaches a gurgling – and the beautiful view of clouds and land from afar… Also, I love how it seems like time stops when you’re on a plane – or is that just me? Too bad this flight was only an hour long. I’m definitely looking forward to the 12 hour flights from America to Korea. Yay for feet falling asleep!

Eating yummy club sandwiches while drinking overpriced Evian water ($11 dollars a bottle is woahhhhh) at the Shilla Hotel in Jejudo. The prices were only acceptable because the interior and view was beautiful… I was also starving to death…

Large bodies of water always fascinate me. The view and sound of crashing waves always makes me feel at peace. It’s like everything is tiny and unimportant compared to the overwhelmingly beautiful ocean. If you’re ever having a miserable day, visit the beach and let the waves wash your problems away.

A picture with the ocean behind me… All I can think is ‘Wow… my eyes are weird’. I have really unsymmetrical (?) eyes and my left one is obviously larger than my right one. I haven’t really given much thought to it till someone asked me if I purposely had double-eyelid surgery on just one eye to make it look more natural… I mean, what the?!? Do you think I’m an idiot? hahah. But I have to admit… if you split my face in half, I look like a before and after ad for a plastic surgery clinic… I was seriously considering getting surgery because of my unbalanced eyes but realized that I was being dumb over something that doesn’t even matter. Plus, on good days, my left eye decides to magically outer-double-eyelid itself and my eyes look even. hahaha Maybe it’ll want to permanently stay someday in the future.

We stayed at this amazing place called 다래산장 in Jeju Island! Created by an environment loving man, the condos here are all eco-friendly. The condo/house that we stayed in (하늘-sky) was created from 100% wood and the heating system was fueled by wood as well. The condo itself was surrounded by tangerine trees and the whole area was beautiful. The aura was super friendly and the manager even had a cute jindo puppy! Isn’t he adorable :) If any of you guys are planning to visit Korea and Jeju Island, then I definitely recommend staying here. It was definitely one of the nicest, most unique places that I’ve stayed! (If you’re interested then click on the link above or <here>)

Visiting the Cheonjeyeon (not Cheonjiyeon) Falls! It was raining when we went there so the waterfalls were more flowing-with-water-y then ever! Not to mention, it was a slightly foggy day which only added on to the beauty of the falls.

I haven’t been in a submarine since I visited Hawaii a long time ago so I was really excited when my family planned to go see the fishies :) It was so pretty!

Again with the large bodies of water <3 There’s also a cherry on top!

Coming back to Seoul, I was surprised to see so much snow! I think this photo was taken right as we passed Gangnam… I think. So building-ful, isn’t it?

As much as I had an amazing trip, I was happy to be back home :)

here’s the song I’ve been listening to over and over again during this whole trip (I’m sure I’ve featured it in one of my posts before!)

Boys Like Girls – Be Your Everything

I’ll be your shelter

I’ll be your storm

I’ll make you shiver

I’ll keep you warm

Whatever weather

Baby I’m yours

Be your forever, be your fling

Baby I will be your everything

Toodles ♥
