I’m usually not one to be interested in lip products, but lately, I’ve been on an absolute lip craze. Pinks and corals – I just gotta have them all. Even if I do buy extremely pigmented and opaque colors, I usually sheer them out and wear a really natural lip. I think there’s something just so effortless about a tinted lip. Plus, it’s so easy and simple. Also, if there’s ever a day that I feel like wearing a bold lip, I can apply it from the tube and have a whole new look.
Here are my five top lip products that I’ve been loving lately. I think they’ll be perfect for the coming spring as well.
I usually dislike the sticky feeling of lip glosses, but this one manages to feel really silky on my lips without fading away quickly. It is an extremely pigmented lip gloss that could be worn alone or over another lip product for an extra bit of shine. It’s a soft, apricot-coral color that doesn’t contain any shimmer whatsoever. I like to pair it over my Dior Lip glow for an extra hint of color on those days when I’m feeling a bit lackluster.
I’ve heard so much about this product online and finally caved in a couple weeks ago when I spotted it in CVS. I chose Aurora, which is a really pretty pink-coral shade that looks great both opaque and sheer. I’m not a huge fan of the bold lip so I usually like to dab it in the center of my lips and blend it out for a hint of bright color. It has amazing staying power and feels comfortable on the lips. I think Aurora is a universally flattering color and will look absolutely beautiful come spring and summer.
This product is for those days when I want a really natural flush of red on my lips. It’s very moisturizing without feeling too tacky and looks very natural on. The only downside to this product is that it comes in a tub and I hate having to dip my finger into it. Other than that, it’s great for those days when your lips are feeling a bit dehydrated and need some love.
My love for pretty packaging led me to buy this product, and I have to say… I absolutely love it. Dior’s Lip Glow products work with the chemistry of your lips to produce a customized color. I actually have tried the original Pink Lip Glow before, but I definitely like the Coral color a lot better. Orange lips are also extremely on-trend this spring and the Coral Lip Glow is the perfect way to add a bit of sheer orange into your look. It’s moisturizing and looks naturally pretty. The Coral version of the Lip Glow is a spring 2014 limited edition product so I will definitely try to pick up a backup if I can. I’m hoping that I can get it when I fly to Korea during the summer – gotta take advantage of the duty-free shopping :)
While this is definitely not the easiest lip to wear, it has the most lasting power and brightens your complexion like no other. I’ve already mentioned this in a previous post about my favorite summer beauty products and I’m sure that I’ll continue to love it this coming spring and summer. It’s a super bright pink matte lip when used directly from the tube but looks natural and stains your lip when tapped on. I think it’s the perfect color for spring.
What lip products do you guys tend to go for during this time of the year – any favorites or recommendations? Do you like bold lips? Or do you prefer a more natural lip like I do? Let me know what you think!
